You’ve got flow blockages, Charlie Brown!

It sounds funny to talk about a cartoon in relation to flow, but ‘Peanuts’ presents classic examples flow and blockages. You know Charlie Brown, the character who is always a ‘loser’ one way or another. Charlie Brown would get angry when he had to open a metal can of dog food for Snoopy and then cut himself. He would be suckered in by Lucy’s wiles when she promised not to pull the football away, and of course she would ever time. The examples go on and on.

These are examples of flow blockages. Yes Snoopy has to be fed, but it should not involve ‘suffering’ on Charlie Brown’s part. And the Law of Negative Attraction is in full force whenever he confronts Lucy, even as a ‘trusted’ therapist.

But there are other times when Charlie Brown actually follows his flow. The Christmas tree he buys is a 100% flow ‘decision’, and in the end he is proven right. Same with Thanksgiving, where he tries to accommodate the blockages of other people’s flow by serving dinner for his friends even though he is leaving.

But you say, it’s a cartoon so how does that apply to me? Well, everyday you are confronted with similar situations – a friend or coworker who takes advantage of you one way or another. A routine that is unpleasant from beginning to end. And so forth. By following your flow you can eliminate/change these situations for the better, and you will be more successful than ever.

‘The Secret’ book even covers this, as one of the speakers (a therapist) tells of a client that essentially was a Charlie Brown – harassed at work, a failure at his attempt at a comedy act, failure in his love life, and so on. The therapist told him to take a positive outlook on life (The Law of Positive Attraction) and the world would change around him. What he was really telling him was to remove his flow blockages and follow his flow. What happened next was amazing. The people at work who harassed him either stopped or left the department. His comedy act became a hit. And other parts of his life fell in place as well.
