I remember walking my dog in a park near me. And almost every morning we witness a murder.
Shocking you say? Not really. Every morning we see a group of crows, and the term for this group is literally a murder! It was even a question on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and featured on The Simpsons of all things (the episode about medical marijuana).
Okay, enough obscure trivia. Why is this important to you and your flow? Words are very powerful things (as The Secret points out) but are also heavily dependent on cultural context and other factors. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in other people’s definitions of words, especially when they have negative connotations. But the reality is, in flow your use of words actually changes regardless of what society, friends, or family insist upon.
In flow, there are no such things as sin, morality, fear, hope, and similar. Yes, this may sound bizarre and even controversial, but think about it. If you are in flow, always working at your peak of success, how could you possibly “sin” or commit an “immoral act”? Why would you fear anything since everything you attract and partake in is positive? And why is there a need for hope when you KNOW what you want and how to achieve it?
Also remember that cultural definitions of words always change, and flow never does. As I have mentioned before, in the 1950’s a woman who made an instant cake was essentially considered a sinner by the norms of the day. This past Valentine’s Day there were riots in India by religious groups who felt the holiday promoted “immorality”, yet millions others bought chocolates and flowers to celebrate the holiday. During the latter half of the 20th century you were supposed to fear communists, yet companies like Wal-Mart primary sell “communist-made” goods and communist China is now the holy grail for US companies ranging from automakers to home appliance manufacturers.
So don’t allow other people’s words to cause blockages to your flow, and always remember to use words that are consistent with your own flow!
